Another Sakonnet Sunset, 14x18 oil

I'm now finished with #2 in my Sakonnet Sunset series.  The colors are SO not true, but the painting's at the (old) studio, where I worked on it today instead of packing.  I do this every time I'm moving.  I plan, then fiddle faddle around when I'm supposed to be packing, so I end up doing it all in a rush.  Anyway, till I can get the right lighting, here's the gist of it.

Actually, I love it.
Did you paint the sun first?
That's how I would do it, to keep me from starting out in too high a key.

Geez, I painted the sun LAST - don't know why - I wanted to capture the hot pink aspect of the setting sun, and then when it came time, I couldn't do it - I made it more yellow/orange. Well, the curtain hasn't come down on this painting yet. It may still become the painting I wanted it to be!
