Here I was intrigued by the sun on the road. All the colors you can make it in your mind's eye. Once again, my BACK was to the water! Beach roses in bloom... you can just stand there and drink in the perfume!
Hanging now in the Westport Rivers Show through September 10!
Thanks, Debbie! With acrylics you can paint bigger (brushes just have to be bigger, too!) 'cause they dry so fast! My beloved brother-in-law had 'tested' both beach passes, and in the computer mine said I'd been at the beach for like 14 days, and was still there - that's why it wouldn't let me in! Next time...

What's Up In My Studio? by Kelley Carey MacDonald
This is a secondary blog to my Daily Painting Blog, where I'll put up paintings that I'm working on, or paintings that are hanging in various shows, or just interesting things that I've seen or done. I welcome comments anytime, on the page or via email (kcareymac@hotmail.com).I love to paint and am grateful every day that I get to explore this wonderful life in this way. My family is tremendously supportive, and I have a fantastic circle of friends who paint, and other wonderful friends who support me and allow me to visit even though I probably have streaks of magenta in my hair or cadmium yellow smeared across my face. This is my personal journey, and this, I think, is where I find peace for my soul. Thanks for looking in... Kelley

Kelley I LOVE this. Not getting into the beach was a very good thing :) I'm amazed at how big you paint plein air.
