Once again my Harry is the subject of a painting. He just LOVES flowers, and here he is sitting on the morning paper taking a whiff of the tulips (do they really smell?). I went for a stylized look here. Anyone who lives with a cat knows their preferred seat is whatever you're reading...
I like this one a lot! I like the minimalist look, and the colors are great!
Yep, my cats love to come and sit on whatever I have open in front of me, usually right under my nose! They also have a real knack for sensing when I’ll be getting up from my seat, and they’ll either
a) show up 3 seconds before I get up from the computer or easel to refill my coffee and occupy the chair as soon as I leave the room; or
b) if Paul and I have been sitting watching a movie for 2 hours with no cats in sight, one of them will suddenly appear and curl up in my lap as the closing credits start to roll.
Oh SO true. Wendell is presently sprawled behind my laptop kind of basking in the heat from the little exhaust fan. Prolly killin' my 'puter. This is only because I wouldn't let him lay on across the keyboard! Nice Painting. Great shapes and colors.
Paintings on this site may still be available for sale. If interested contact me at kcareymac@hotmail.com
What's Up In My Studio? by Kelley Carey MacDonald
This is a secondary blog to my Daily Painting Blog, where I'll put up paintings that I'm working on, or paintings that are hanging in various shows, or just interesting things that I've seen or done. I welcome comments anytime, on the page or via email (kcareymac@hotmail.com).I love to paint and am grateful every day that I get to explore this wonderful life in this way. My family is tremendously supportive, and I have a fantastic circle of friends who paint, and other wonderful friends who support me and allow me to visit even though I probably have streaks of magenta in my hair or cadmium yellow smeared across my face. This is my personal journey, and this, I think, is where I find peace for my soul. Thanks for looking in... Kelley
